I was rereading Tithe (probably my first introduction to the genre of urban faerie, still a fun read!!) by the amazing Holly Black, and so, you know, fairy art. I always seem to come back to that.

Carmen Wood illustrator whimsical picture book art minneapolis

Carmen Wood is an enthusiastic creator based out of Minnesota. Her art has been published in New Moon Girls Magazine, received an honorable mention in the 2016 SCBWI Tomie DePaola Award, and is inspired and informed by her day job at a school library as well as her stint as a bookseller at Publishers Weekly’s 2017 best bookstore of the year, Wild Rumpus Books.  She has been a member of the SCBWI since 2012.
